⚠️ VATchecker provides general guidance only — not professional tax advice. Always consult a qualified accountant or tax adviser before making decisions about VAT or GST registration.

General guidance only

The information provided by VATchecker — including registration thresholds, VAT rates, filing frequencies, and registration deadlines — is intended as a general orientation for small businesses and freelancers. It does not constitute professional tax, legal, or financial advice.

Accuracy of information

We make every effort to keep rates and thresholds accurate and up to date. However, tax rules change frequently, sometimes with little notice. The data on this site was verified in June 2026. VATchecker accepts no liability for errors, omissions, or outdated information.

VAT number validation

For EU countries, VAT number validation is performed live via the European Commission's VIES database. VATchecker has no control over the accuracy or availability of that database. A "valid" result from VIES means the number was registered at the time of checking — it does not guarantee the business is currently trading or that the number is being used legitimately.

Your responsibility

You are responsible for verifying any information obtained from VATchecker with the relevant tax authority or a qualified professional before acting on it. Tax obligations depend on your specific circumstances, which this tool cannot fully assess.

No liability

VATchecker, its owners, and its contributors accept no liability for any loss, penalty, or damage arising from reliance on information provided by this tool.
